Call for Honorary Degree Nominations - 2023
Invitation to the ¶¶ÒõÊÓƵ community
The Honorary Degrees Committee, a joint Committee of Senate and the Board of Governors, invites nominations of potential honorary degree candidates.
Information about honorary degrees and the required Nomination Form can be found here: /about/honorary-degrees/welcome.html.
The awarding of an honorary degree by the University recognizes the significant contributions of individuals to local, national, and international communities. The criteria used by the Committee for considering candidates for these awards are outlined in the Guidelines for the Awarding of Honorary Degrees. Nominations must be accompanied by the required documents noted in the Form. The onus is on the nominator to ensure the requirements of the Form and Guidelines are met.
The Committee will strive to ensure that nominations reflect our commitment to equity and diversity, knowing that these values are integral to excellence and enrich our community. As an institution committed to fostering an environment of inclusion and respect, we welcome nominations of women, Indigenous peoples, racialized persons/visible minorities, persons with disabilities, persons of minority sexual orientation or gender identity and others who might enrich our community.
